Getting Started
BidVision turns your bid sheet into a ranked list of trips, sorted by what matters to you. Here's the five-minute version.
1 Where to get your bid sheet
Bid sheets live in Crew Portal. Open Crew Portal and log in first, then go to Bidding Resources → Crew Planning → Bid Sheets. (A direct link before you're logged in just lands you on the portal home.) Download the PDF for the period you're bidding.
2 Load your bid sheet
Open BidVision and load that bid sheet PDF. Everything happens on your device—nothing is uploaded.
! The one thing to know first
BidVision preferences are soft. They rank trips—they don't bid for you and they aren't PBS rules. Because they're soft, a great pairing that's just outside your rules still shows up, ranked, instead of vanishing—so you see trips you'd never catch with a hard filter. "Exclude" means "push this down my list," not "I'll never get it." Set things up freely to explore; your actual PBS bid is still yours to write.
3 Set your Availability—your week, then the month
The Availability tray has two connected parts.
Template Week — your recurring pattern
Drag the time windows you can work (Prefer, green) and can't (Exclude, red) across a typical Sun–Sat week. These are time windows, not whole days, so you can say things like "Tuesday nights off" or "free Wednesday afternoon through Friday morning." This is your baseline—it carries across every bid, so you set it once.
Month calendar — this bid's actual dates
The calendar starts pre-filled from your template. For any date that's different this month—a trip you're already covering, a one-off day you need—click it and adjust. A change on the calendar overrides the template for that date only.
BidVision then scores every trip by how well it fits—by the hour, not just the day—so the trips that work for your real schedule rise to the top.
4 Shape the ranking with Prefer / Allow / Exclude
On any filter, place each option on a spectrum: Prefer = your ideal (pull it to the top), Allow = good with you (a lighter nudge up), leave it untouched for neutral (no opinion either way), Exclude = a negative (push it down). Stack a few and the list reorders to match how you actually think about your month.
5 Filter Ranking—which preferences matter most
Once you've set a few preferences, some matter more than others. Filter Ranking lets you drag your active filters into priority order, and BidVision weights the scoring to match—your top preference moves trips further than the ones beneath it. It isn't another filter; it's how BidVision breaks ties when trips compete for the top of your list.
6 Discover vs. Strict
- Discover (default): shows all trips, ranked—nothing hidden. This is where you catch the great trips that sit just outside your rules—the ones other tools would hide.
- Strict: hard filter—hides trips that break an Exclude. Use it when you know exactly what you want.
7 Researching a trade (ETB / TTS)
Use the Date Range filter to narrow to the specific days you're trying to cover, and BidVision surfaces every trip touching that window.
Your data stays on your device
No airline data is sent to or stored by BidVision servers. All parsing, filtering, and scoring happens on your device.
